Dwell Development designed a home in Seattle with the Built Green Emerald Star certification criteria in mind. If awarded, it will be the first home of its kind in the city, Gizmag reports.
This means the home was designed to achieve net zero energy usage by generating electricity from a renewable source, using 70 percent less water than a conventional home, and ensuring that 90 percent of wood used is reclaimed or FSC-certified.
The result is an energy-efficient and airtight home with a rustic-meets-industrial charm.
